GOTHIC
GOTHIC is a 10in x 10in acrylic painting on a primed, white stretched canvas, and finished with a gloss varnish.
GOTHIC is inspired by the stained glass windows found on the walls of medieval Gothic cathedrals in Europe. They represent sacredness and allow for beautiful, colorful light to make its way along the cathedral walls. GOTHIC uses many bright colors that can be found within long-established stained glass pictorials. I was inspired to make a piece that resembled stained glass after learning about it’s significance in my current Humanities class.
